Writer: 'One of the most fabulous shows I've ever seen'

SAN FRANCISCO—Paul Seaman is a writer who grew up in Pakistan. His writings include a book about his childhood called Paper Airplanes in the Himalayas. He is currently working on A Sword in the Darkness: Sustaining a Life that Matters, a 250-page exploration on bringing more intention to everyday life.
Paul has spent the last three years researching and writing an initial draft of the entire book and is in the process of revising all chapters.
He shared his thoughts with The Epoch Times after watching the afternoon Shen Yun Performing Arts show in San Francisco.
"It was definitely one of the most fabulous shows I’ve ever seen. Really nice sets. What I appreciated the most was the variety of things. I didn’t expect so much variety in the dancing. I enjoyed the music as much as the performance," Paul remarked.
Paul continued, "It was a very clever use of the back screen—computer-generated scenery—it was very clever. The costumes in the performance were just spectacular."
"I really appreciated that second to last number where you showed the persecution of religion in China. I didn’t expect to see that in an opera performance. I think that was very appropriate. I was glad to see that." Paul we referring to one of the performances which depicted the persecution of the spiritual practice Falun Dafa in China. The persecution, which began July 20, 1999, continues to this day at the hands of the Chinese communist regime.
Paul enjoyed most Drummers of the Tang Court and the erhu piece. "It was so beautiful. That (the erhu) was the best solo act."
"The use of the ribbons was very beautiful and very creative. I really liked the way they turned their ribbons into flowers. I really enjoyed that a lot. Any of the dances with the women and the flowing ribbons and costumes where they twirl and made their dresses look like they were in the middle of a flower. That was so very clever," concluded Mr. Seaman.
Paul's wife, Cathy Lockhard also enjoyed the show and the variety of the dances. "I loved the different colors and the different kinds of dance."
